If no one's mentioned it yet, a good thing to do when get a new hives established is to supplement their natural foraging with a big bowl of sugar water next to the hive(s). I used a combo of cheap store-brand grape soda and a cup of sugar added to each big bottle and they literally gulped it down. Do this for a week or two until they find all the good nectar sources nearby. Let me know how it goes! :) Thanks, Kim!
